OPRIV.EXE
An OPUS PRIV.BBS editor
OPRIV will edit OPUS 1.00 *PRIV.BBS files. It is ONLY for use with
OPUS 1.00!! In order to sort out some of the confusion of the
changes from OPUS 0.00 (or Fido) to OPUS 1.00, OPRIV will create,
edit and write a series of default *PRIV.BBS files for OPUS 1.00,
which are NOT the same as those used by OPUS 0.00, if the *PRIV.BBS
files it expects are shorter than those that OPUS 1.00 uses or are
missing.
To use, just call OPRIV from whatever directory has your *PRIV.BBS
files, there are no command line parameters at this time. Help is
in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. One important thing
you have to understand before you start editing the strings that
describe the commands is that the ORDER of those commands is what
decides what will happen, not the first letter of the command. For
example the first command from the MAIN Menu will always lead to
the message areas. It doesn't matter if you call it the default,
"M)essage section" or "R)ead Messages" or translate it to another
language, "L)ea" in Spanish for example, but you'll definitely
confuse your users if you make it "F)ile Section", because OPUS
will take the user to the message section no matter what you call
the command or what the first letter is although the first letter
is what the user will press to take them to the message section.
Its just that simple. Have fun, and don't expect any startling
changes, *PRIV.BBS files are on the "hit list" for OPUS 2.00 so
there's not much point in devoting a lot of time to this program.
